MEET THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Dr. Larry “T-Byrd” Gordon Chief Financial Officer Grammy nominee Dr. Larry "T-Byrd" Gordon possesses Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate degree
in Music Education. Not only is he a singer, songwriter, musician, producer and engineer, he has also served as adjunct Associate
Professor at Brookhaven College. To his professional live performance experiences, he has either shared the stage with or
opened up for some of the biggest names in the music industry: James Brown, Tony Bennett, Lynn Anderson, Willie Nelson, Brooks
& Dunn, the late Gregory Hines, Chuck Berry, Tanya Tucker, Rita Moreno, Commodores, Dennis Edwards and the Temptations,
etc. (to name a few) and he performs nationally and abroad before some of the most affluent people in the world with his 16-piece
orchestra, the Music People Luv Band.
Alvester Gibson Vice President
Alvester Gibson, Jr. is also a board member and Business Development Specialist for the Balch Springs
Chamber of Commerce. Prior to assuming this position
Mr.Gibson, owned the House of Knowledge Bookstore & Gallery for fourteen years in Texarkana, Texas which featured author
appearances by Dr. Joycelyn Elders, M.D. (former U.S. Surgeon General) Drew Pearson (former Dallas Cowboy) Francis Ray (best
selling romance novelist) and Kimberla Lawson Roby (best selling author). Alvester was a board member on the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce and Texarkana Regional Arts and Humanities Council
(TRAHC).
Sandra Wood President
Sandra Wood graduated cum laude with a Bachelor Degree in Vocal Performance from Midwestern State University in 1983. In 1994
she established the Greater Wichita Falls Alliance For The Performing Arts and directed the Art For Kids’
Sake program which toured throughout Texoma providing musical theatre performances to over 5,000 youth per year from 1994-1998.
Ms. Wood has over twenty
years of experience as a vocal teacher, performer and church music director. She continues her own professional studies through
membership in NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing), attendance of national workshops and in personal performances.
She has appeared in recital, opera, musical theatre, and performed solo work in Arizona, Kansas and Texas. Her experience
includes: stage roles with Backdoor Theatre, Red River Lyric Theatre, and the Mesquite Community Theatre.
